The MSP Website Woes: A Vendor’s Tongue-in-Cheek Observations

Ahoy there, fellow MSPs! As a channel vendor navigating the ocean of IT services, I’ve sailed past many a website in my time, and let me tell you, some of them have been quite the shipwrecks! Now, before you raise the anchor of defense, let me assure you, this isn’t a broadside attack. Rather, it’s a friendly nudge from someone who’s been on both sides of the fence.

So, pull up a barrel, and let’s chat about some common quirks I’ve noticed in over 50% of MSP websites. Think of it as a checklist for smoother sailing in the digital seas:

1. Beware the Bermuda Triangle of Broken Links: Ah, the elusive links! Many a time have I set sail for your LinkedIn or Facebook, only to be met with the dreaded “404 – Page Not Found.” A quick fix to ensure your digital treasure map leads to the right places!

2. A Blog Frozen in Time: Picture this: I stumble upon your blog, hoping for some pearls of wisdom, only to find that the latest entry is from the ancient times of June 2023. A bit of spring cleaning or a swift update could work wonders here!

3. Lost in the Social Media Abyss: Your newest blog post is as elusive as the lost city of Atlantis, yet your most recent social media post is on MySpace? Friendster? Let’s bridge the gap between your digital islands and ensure they all lead back to your treasure trove of services!

4. The Mystery of the Invisible MSP: Are you the legendary MSP of New York City, or the enigmatic guardian of Los Angeles? A simple mention of your geographic coordinates can help weary travelers find their way to your shores!

5. From Armada to One-Person Raft: Your website may be as grand as a majestic armada, but without proper branding and structure, it could leave visitors wondering if you’re just a humble solo sailor. Let’s make sure your digital flagship reflects the true size of your crew!

6. The Lure of the Lead Capture: Like a well-placed net, a lead capture mechanism can ensnare potential clients as they explore your digital waters. Don’t let valuable leads slip through the cracks!

Consider this humble checklist as a friendly pirate’s map, guiding you through the choppy waters of website woes. With a few tweaks and adjustments, your digital vessel can sail smoothly, attracting treasure-seekers from every corner of the seven seas.

Fair winds and following seas, mates! Until our ships cross paths again.

Yours in the spirit of adventure,

Captain Rocketship
